Bio

VAL Masferrer Oliveira is a Brazilian artist who worked 16 years with Marketing and Advertising in Brazil. Seven years ago she moved to London where she started to study Interior Design in different schools, one of them being Inchbald School of Design. Today she is specialised in space harmonization based on Oriental/Asian techniques.

While living in London, she has travelled abroad to a variety of countries (e.g. India, Japan, Thailand, Kenya, Bali, Sweden, Tunisia, Norway, Russia, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, Morocco...) where she started to collect material for a project she called "Moods Around the World". Having practiced Yoga for so many years and being influenced by Hinduism and Buddhism, VAL elected India as the first country for this project. All the other countries that followed also form part of a selection she calls "colour + expression" countries.

She believes that anything in life can be an inspiration and with this approach she starts shooting to search for small details.....

After four years living in London she moved to Madrid, Spain, where she stayed for two years. She took the opportunity to study at IED, Istituto Europeu di Design. She also dedicated time to edit most of the material that she had gotten from around the world, while she was getting prepared for her new adventure: to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. She wanted to shoot from the Roof of Africa.

After two years living in Spain, she moved back to London where she is living at the moment.
